The first excerpt from Zach Cregger’s “Companion” has been released

Sony has unveiled the debut clip from the highly anticipated horror film, Resident Evil. Directed by Zach Cregger (known for Barbarian), this latest adaptation of the iconic video game series is slated to hit theaters on September 18.

Industry reports previously indicated that the film is projected to achieve the franchise’s strongest opening weekend in the U.S. to date, with estimates reaching $35 million. The story follows a courier, portrayed by Austin Abrams, who is tasked with delivering a package to the Raccoon City hospital, only to find himself surrounded by a horde of the infected upon his arrival.

The film’s ensemble cast features Paul Walter Hauser, Zach Cherry, and Kali Reis. Cregger collaborated on the screenplay with Shay Hatten, recognized for his work on the John Wick franchise.
