The Boys return to deliver the final chapter. The fifth season will be the show’s last and will close the book on the confrontation with Homelander.
The Boys are approaching their conclusion. Prime Video has announced the premiere date and released a teaser for the fifth and final season. The premiere is scheduled for April 8, 2026 — the first two episodes will be released that day, and the series finale is set for May 20, 2026.
The streamer also published a synopsis for the upcoming season.
In the final installment, Homelander tightens his grip and bends society to his desires. Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), and Frenchie (Tomer Capon) end up in the “Freedom” camp, while Annie (Erin Moriarty) tries to organize a resistance. Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) vanishes, and a returned Butcher (Karl Urban) opts to unleash a virus capable of killing all supes. His action triggers a series of events that will alter the world forever.
The teaser also features the return of Soldier Boy, portrayed by Jensen Ackles, and the introduction of an as-yet-unnamed character played by Jared Padalecki, marking a reunion of the Supernatural alumni with showrunner Eric Kripke. According to Kripke, the finale will be “the culmination of everything the series was built for.”
