The Best Spider-Man Game Joins PlayStation Plus This Month
Sony has unveiled the latest expansion for the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, continuing a strong momentum of high-caliber additions for February. Starting February 17, subscribers at the Extra and Premium tiers can dive into a curated selection featuring a blockbuster superhero sequel and a poignant indie masterpiece, as detailed in the recent PlayStation Blog announcement.
The headliner, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, reunites Peter Parker and Miles Morales for an expansive journey through a reimagined New York City. The playable map now extends into Queens and Brooklyn, allowing players to seamlessly swap between the two web-slingers during their patrols. While Miles’ bio-electric abilities provide a distinct tactical edge, Peter’s combat style undergoes a dark transformation as he bonds with the legendary symbiote. This sequel offers a fresh perspective on iconic lore—including a unique take on the origin of Venom—delivering a polished open-world adventure that expertly captures the thrill of being a hero.
Given that the game has already surpassed 11 million copies sold, many fans may have already experienced Peter and Miles’ latest chapter. However, the February update also introduces Neva, a visually stunning 2D platformer from Nomada Studio, the creators of the acclaimed Gris. Neva follows the journey of a young woman and her majestic wolf-like companion as they traverse a world slowly being consumed by corruption. It is an emotionally charged, “devastatingly beautiful” experience that balances striking art with a moving narrative.
In addition to these standout titles, several other games are joining the service this month. Here is the full lineup of new arrivals:
- Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown
- Season: A Letter to the Future
- Monster Hunter Stories
- Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin
- Venba
- Echoes of the End: Enhanced Edition
- Rugby 25
- Disney Pixar Wall-E (Available exclusively for Premium subscribers)
The PlayStation Plus Game Catalog offers a massive library of PS4 and PS5 titles for those subscribed to the service’s higher tiers. Serving as Sony’s robust alternative to Xbox Game Pass, the catalog provides members with hundreds of diverse gaming experiences to download and enjoy.
