Half-Life 2 RTX Update Adds Improved Frame Generation and ARM Support
Orbifold Studios released an October update for Half-Life 2 RTX that adds several new technologies. The developers also fixed a number of graphical artifacts.
Players now have an optional 3D-Guided Neural Rendering (DLSS) mode, which is turned off by default. The update also adds Windows on ARM support. Another addition is “DLSS Frame Generation Preset C,” an improved frame generation option for GeForce RTX 40 and RTX 50 series graphics cards and RTX Spark laptops.
Players with GeForce RTX 50 series cards can also use 5x and 6x frame generation.
A new rendering option called “Sparse Rendering” reduces the number of lighting samples the game calculates. The image is then reconstructed with DLSS Ray Reconstruction.

The Half-Life 2 RTX developers noted that players can open the RTX Remix settings during gameplay by pressing “Alt + X.”
Half-Life 2 RTX has a page on Steam, where it holds “Mixed” reviews with a 56% rating after 9,000 reviews. Many players complain about optimization, and some report crashes.
