Taylor Swift’s ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ Removed from Trump’s TikTok Post

The White House appears far from finished utilizing Taylor Swift as online fodder, and the global pop superstar continues to pay it no mind.

In yet another digital jab, the official White House TikTok account—linked to Donald Trump—shared a video soundtracked by one of Swift’s recognizable tracks.

The recent upload features a compilation of lighthearted clips showing Donald Trump navigating his daily routine: practicing an imaginary golf swing, flashing thumbs-up gestures, applauding, striding down red carpets, and gesturing randomly.

The accompanying audio features Swift’s beloved vault track “I Bet You Think About Me,” cleverly paired with the caption, “We know you think about us,” a direct nod to the song’s lyrical refrain.

By Thursday morning, however, the audio track had been scrubbed from the TikTok post, though the original title tag remained attached.

Co-written by Swift and Lori McKenna back in 2011, “I Bet You Think About Me” was initially left off the standard Red tracklist before finding new life as a “From the Vault” collaboration featuring Chris Stapleton. Upon its 2021 release, the reworked version debuted impressively at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.

This digital chess match follows a string of peculiar social media moments orchestrated by the administration. Just last week, Team Trump circulated an edited video capturing Donald and Melania Trump watching a fireworks display against the backdrop of Swift’s 2020 Folklore staple, “August.” The text overlay declared, “Mood because it’s August and Donald Trump is your president.”

The accompanying caption playfully taunted, “I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song! #taylorswift #maga #august.”

By Friday afternoon, social media users across the United States noticed the track had been entirely stripped from the post, replaced by the notification: “This sound isn’t available.”

Additional clips featuring Swift’s 2025 single “Father Figure” and her 2025 track “The Fate of Ophelia” have similarly vanished from official feeds following copyright or usage adjustments.

Undeterred by the vanishing audio, the Team Trump account subsequently leaned into the friction by utilizing a live rendition of the title track from Swift’s 2012 watershed album, Red. The provocative post showcased a modified Red album cover featuring Trump’s silhouette alongside a satirical playlist titled “Red (Trump’s Version).”

“Did you know Taylor Swift wrote a whole album about the color of the Republican Party?” the caption jested, though that audio has since been removed as well.

Political friction between Trump and Swift has simmered since 2018, intensifying significantly after the singer formally endorsed Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 presidential election. The political figure subsequently took to Truth Social to voice his opposition with the capital-letter declaration, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Tensions flared further around July 4th when the White House shared a digitally altered image of Madison Square Garden—the rumored venue for Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding celebrations—with the marquee altered to read, “Trump Is Your President.”

Despite the ongoing online antics, Swift’s focus remains firmly anchored in her historic career achievements. The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame announced her upcoming induction into the contemporary songwriter-artist category for the Class of 2026. Earning this prestigious nod at just 36 years old makes her the youngest inductee in history, a milestone achieved during her very first year of eligibility.

To date, Swift has offered no public commentary regarding the White House’s ongoing TikTok posts.
