Taylor Swift Opens the Curtains on The End of an Era: Full Trailer Released
Trailer unveiled November 13 — six-part docuseries premieres December 12 on Disney+
Taylor Swift has released the full trailer for The End of an Era, a six-episode docuseries that takes viewers behind the scenes of the landmark Eras Tour. The clip, which arrived on November 13 — roughly one month shy of Swift’s 36th birthday — pulls back the curtain on the scale, choreography and logistical feats that powered one of the most ambitious concert runs in history.
The two-and-a-half-minute trailer stitches together moments of technical wizardry and quiet preparation: Swift’s surprise stage entrances (including a memorable gag involving a faux custodial cart), the rapid moving-platform that ferried her beneath the catwalk, and the countless backstage routines that kept the production moving night after night.
“I’m very aware of mysterious forces at play that I will never have any control of,” Swift reflects early in the trailer, underscoring the emotional gravity of performing for tens of thousands at once.
The trailer also highlights the army of collaborators who helped bring the tour to life during its 2023–2024 run, which amassed record-breaking grosses totaling $2,077,618,725. Intimate backstage snapshots feature friends, musical collaborators and family members — and a few personal moments with Swift’s now-fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce. In several sequences he appears either alongside her on the road or on-screen as she watches his Kansas City Chiefs games; Swift’s mother Andrea praises Kelce’s impact, saying he “brings a lot of happiness.”
One playful backstage beat shows Kelce crouched under the stage to surprise Swift with a booming “Tay Tay!” before the pair board the moving platform together — a brief, candid moment that underscores how entwined Swift’s personal life became with the tour’s narrative. When Swift shared the trailer to Instagram she said she couldn’t imagine a better way to mark her near-birthday than by reliving the tour and inviting viewers backstage.
The full trailer follows an earlier teaser and sets the stage for the docuseries’ December 12 premiere on Disney+. While a concert film of the Eras Tour was released in 2023, this six-part series promises a deeper, episodic exploration of the creative process, the on-the-road camaraderie, and the logistical ingenuity behind the phenomenon.
Behind-the-scenes preparations also reveal how Swift rehearsed surprise appearances with several guest artists. The trailer shows her coordinating a staged phone call with Sabrina Carpenter and practicing beside Ed Sheeran, who quietly tunes his guitar on a couch. Other notable collaborators captured in the footage include Jack Antonoff, Aaron Dessner and Gracie Abrams — many of whom joined Swift onstage at various points during the tour.
