Nicki Minaj has responded to the 2026 midterms, in which Democrats won overwhelmingly in congressional and state elections across the country on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The following day, the rapper, who has spent the past year campaigning for Donald Trump and his MAGA movement, posted a silent video on X of herself looking blankly into the camera. She wore pale blue contacts and a black blazer.

“Couple things,” she wrote, introducing a list of personal reminders. “1. Trump is STILL your PRESIDENT.”

“The QUEEN is STILL your OBSESSION,” she continued. “Jesus is STILL LORD … The BARBZ are STILL PRETTY!!! … Stay tuned & STAY MAD. … Maybe now our people will WAKE UP.”

Minaj also praised Vice President JD Vance’s “great insight” after he shared a lengthy post about Republican losses, claiming that the “real reason” voters did not back the party was the United States’ war with Iran. She congratulated conservative Florida politicians Anna Paulina Luna and Byron Donalds, who won their respective races for the House of Representatives and governor.

Fans and critics had been waiting to hear from Minaj after Democrats regained control of both the House and Senate in a landslide Tuesday night, flipping dozens of congressional seats. Before the election, she joined Trump on the campaign trail to rally support for Republican candidates.

On Election Day, Minaj posted an AI-generated image of Chucky wearing a “Vote Red” badge. Child’s Play filmmaker Don Mancini mocked the post soon afterward, writing on X: “Chucky says ‘A BLUE WAVE’ is coming, as BLUE as my f — kin’ eyes!”

Minaj, who was born in Trinidad and Tobago, is not a U.S. citizen. She has become involved with the Republican Party since late 2025, when she began appearing at political events. She first met Trump, who has been impeached twice, in January at his Trump Accounts summit in Washington, D.C., where she called herself his “No. 1 fan.”

“She’s been with me a long time,” Trump said of Minaj during an Oval Office meeting in October. Afterward, she told Barbz on X: “Not going anywhere.”
