Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker Says He Will No Longer Sign Autographs After Shows

Kevin Parker is stopping his practice of signing autographs and posing for photos outside hotels and airports.

The Tame Impala leader posted on Instagram Stories on Monday that an increase in aggressive autograph collectors has made him uncomfortable with these interactions. He stated that his unease grew after noticing that some of these encounters involved children.

“I wasn’t that passionate about it before but they’ve started using kids which I think is all kinds of wrong,” Parker wrote, asking fans not to take it personally if he declines an autograph or photo.

Parker also posted a screenshot explaining the work of autograph hounds, who track down celebrities to obtain memorabilia and sell it for profit. He noted that the issue has moved past simple requests for signatures.

The “Dracula” singer confirmed he is also stepping back from meeting fans outside concert venues following performances. He mentioned that he did so during the European leg of his tour, but the crowds eventually grew too large to manage safely.

“The numbers were getting out of control and we don’t have the security to manage it,” he wrote, adding that there was an obvious security risk. Parker stated that his team ultimately advised him to stop going outside after shows.

Parker emphasized that the decision does not stem from a desire to distance himself from Tame Impala’s fanbase. He concluded his message by telling fans to enjoy the concerts and return home safely.

Parker is currently on the Deadbeat Tour, supporting Tame Impala’s fifth studio album, Deadbeat. The North American leg is scheduled through Sept. 20 before the tour proceeds internationally.

Released in October 2025, Deadbeat debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Its hit single “Dracula,” which Parker later reworked as a collaboration with BLACKPINK‘s JENNIE, became Tame Impala’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at No. 55 in October 2025 and peaking at No. 5.
