Switch 2 failed to run one of the modes in the updated version of Devil May Cry 5

The Nintendo version of the game looks better than its PlayStation 4 counterpart.

Capcom continues to support the Nintendo Switch 2 by bringing major titles to the console. Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition recently arrived on the platform and technical analysis shows strong performance results.

A performance review from GVG indicates that the port offers better image quality and smoother gameplay than the original PlayStation 4 release. In 120Hz mode, the game maintains a range between 90 and 120 frames per second by utilizing VRR support while in handheld mode.

Owners playing on a television lose these specific advantages. The console does not support VRR while docked, which limits users to a stable 60 frames per second when the 120Hz output is disabled.

Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition matches the content found on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The package includes the base game along with all launch add-ons, and Vergil remains a playable character from the start.

The Legendary Dark Knight mode—which pits players against significantly larger groups of enemies—stays exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This hardware limitation ensures the game runs smoothly without overloading the Nintendo Switch 2 processor.

This mode is also missing from the PC version. Previous activity in the Steam database suggested the mode might eventually arrive on the Valve platform, but no official announcement exists yet.
