Switch 2 Could Be More Expensive Due to Rising Component Costs as Estimated Price Surfaces

Rising manufacturing expenses could push the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 higher after Samsung raised the cost of its 8nm silicon wafers by 10%.

According to Reuters, Samsung increased the prices of several silicon wafer types by up to 15% due to climbing production costs. The 8nm wafers used for the Switch 2 saw a 10% price hike.

Nintendo will need to purchase these components at higher rates, and such expenses are often passed along to consumers. The company has already increased the price of the Switch 2, with that new pricing scheduled to take effect in September.

TheGamer suggests that the console could see another price increase in the future, potentially reaching $549.99 by next year.
