Authorities have officially named the woman apprehended for allegedly opening fire on Rihanna’s Los Angeles residence over the weekend. On Monday, law enforcement confirmed that Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, a 35-year-old Florida resident, has been charged with felony attempted murder. She is currently being held on a $10.2 million bond.

According to police reports, Ortiz allegedly fired approximately 10 rounds from an AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle at the singer’s Beverly Hills mansion on Sunday, March 8. The suspect was reportedly positioned inside a white Tesla parked across from the property during the assault. While Rihanna and her three children were inside the home at the time, no injuries were reported. The gunfire left visible damage, including bullet holes in the estate’s perimeter gate, an exterior wall, and an RV parked in the driveway. Rihanna’s longtime partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, was reportedly not on the premises during the incident.

A specific motive for the attack remains unclear. Investigative records show that Ortiz, a licensed speech pathologist, has no established personal or professional ties to the “Diamonds” singer or A$AP Rocky. However, she has a history of legal issues in her home state of Florida, including a 2013 bankruptcy and more recent arrests for reckless driving and suspicion of domestic battery.

Despite the lack of a direct connection, Ortiz’s digital footprint suggests a fixated hostility toward the global superstar. In the weeks leading up to the shooting, she reportedly posted several disparaging messages on Facebook. One post from late February tagged the singer directly, using aggressive language and accusing her of “sneaking around” rather than addressing the suspect in person.

The situation escalated quickly on Sunday afternoon after witnesses reported the gunfire around 1:21 p.m. Ortiz fled the scene in her vehicle, but her escape was short-lived. A police helicopter tracked the Tesla to a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where she was taken into custody roughly 30 minutes after the initial emergency call. Upon searching the vehicle, officers recovered the assault rifle and seven spent shell casings.

As of Monday evening, representatives for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have not issued a public statement regarding the security breach.
