Beabadoobee, Jorja Smith, and Nemzzz to Headline Spotify’s New ‘Hometown’ Series
Spotify Unveils ‘Hometown’ Showcase Featuring Intimate Gigs from Beabadoobee, Jorja Smith, and Nemzzz

Spotify has introduced a brand-new live initiative titled Hometown, inviting British visionaries Beabadoobee, Jorja Smith, and Nemzzz to return to their formative roots for a series of intimate, one-off performances across the United Kingdom.
The three-part live showcase will launch next month, commencing with R&B powerhouse Jorja Smith in Walsall, near Birmingham, on September 6. Manchester’s fast-rising lyricist Nemzzz will follow with a hometown gig on September 12, before indie-pop standout Beabadoobee concludes the mini-tour in London on September 17. The precise venues for each date are currently under wraps.
Designed as a tribute to the environments that forged each artist’s sound, the events will grant exclusive entry to their highest-ranking Spotify listeners. The gigs will also be immortalized as dedicated concert films for global streaming. Alongside the performances, Spotify is teaming up with each musician to champion regional youth programs and community-focused grassroots initiatives.
Returning to Where It All Began
Smith, who is currently gearing up to release her anticipated third studio project What Are The Odds, reflected on the profound creative imprint of her upbringing:
“Walsall is where I first started writing and recording music as a teenager. It’s where my love of music began, and the people, experiences, and sense of community there continue to influence my creativity today. It’s home—home is where my heart is and home is where I found my voice! I hope it’s a moment that inspires the next generation to believe that big things really can come from Walsall.”
For independent rap talent Nemzzz—who is slated to unveil his new tape Locked In on September 4—the Manchester show represents a direct tribute to the foundation of his career.
“I’ve always made a point of celebrating Manchester and representing where I’m from, so getting to do Hometown with Spotify feels like a natural extension of that,” he shared. “There’s a pride that comes with doing it at home, around the people and places that have been there from the beginning. No matter where this takes me, I’ll always find a way to bring it back home.”
Empowering Communities and Championing UK Talent
Beabadoobee’s headlining London date arrives just ahead of her new studio LP Pylon, which drops September 18. Her stop in the capital will also benefit The Avenues, an esteemed social care and youth charity based in West London.
“London has always felt like home to me; it’s where I started finding my people, making music, playing tiny shows, and figuring out what I wanted to do, so Hometown feels really special,” she expressed. “It’s also wonderful to give back to the community with The Avenues and support local young people—that element is deeply meaningful to me.”
The Hometown venture serves as an expansion of Spotify’s live engagement framework in the UK, designed to bridge the gap between emerging stars and their core audiences through authentic, community-centric storytelling. The streaming service previously spotlighted UK Radar standout Skye Newman with a special performance at Hackney Church earlier this year, underscoring its long-term investment in homegrown musical visionaries.
