Jennie Issues Sincere Apology Following Fan Disappointment Over BLACKPINK’s 10th Anniversary

Jennie has reached out directly to BLINKs worldwide, offering a sincere and reflective apology after supporters voiced their frustration over the understated celebrations marking BLACKPINK’s landmark 10th debut anniversary.
Turning to the community platform Weverse, the global pop icon published an introspective letter candidly addressing the collective sentiment among fans following the group’s milestone date on August 8.
“I have spent considerable time reflecting on our tenth anniversary, and it genuinely pained me that I couldn’t articulate my thoughts to BLINKs right away,” Jennie explained. “I chose to hold back until my pre-arranged festival commitments concluded so I could return and communicate with full transparency and composure.”
The superstar’s schedule had been packed with major appearances throughout the month, including a headlining set at Chicago’s Lollapalooza on August 1 and dual showcases at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival on August 14 and 16.
Reflecting upon the milestone, Jennie emphasized the profound gratitude she harbors toward the audience that propelled the quartet to international acclaim over the last decade.
“The past decade has granted me some of the most extraordinary chapters of my life, entirely made possible by your unwavering dedication,” she continued. “A tenth anniversary ought to be an occasion of boundless joy and mutual celebration, and I deeply regret that many of you were left feeling neglected. There is no justification I can offer for that shortcoming.”
Jennie reaffirmed the irreplaceable bond between BLACKPINK and their supporters, promising to carry the lessons learned into future endeavors and continuously strive to return the devotion she has received.
An Intimate Milestone Celebration
Anticipation for significant festivities had been high; however, official agency commemorations remained largely subdued. Days prior to the anniversary date, YG Entertainment organized a private gathering in Seoul, hosting an exclusive group of 40 selected Weverse membership holders to meet Jennie, Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo in person.
Footage from the intimate event was later released across the group’s official media channels, capturing the four members presenting pink blossoms to attendees and gathering behind an ornate commemorative cake.

Ahead of the gathering, Jisoo had also joined a live stream to tenderly address fan disappointment, acknowledging that miscommunication had cast a shadow over what was meant to be a celebratory moment and assuring followers of the members’ enduring affection.
A Decade of Monumental Impact
Since debuting in 2016, BLACKPINK has revolutionized the global pop landscape, establishing unprecedented commercial dominance. The group has amassed 11 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved five distinct placements on the Billboard 200 chart—including a historic No. 1 debut with 2022’s Born Pink, a No. 2 peak for 2020’s The Album, and a top-ten finish with their recent EP, DEADLINE.
