Distributors VERETENO and RWV Film have announced the theatrical re-release of the beloved romance anime “Whisper of the Heart.” This Studio Ghibli masterpiece is set to grace Russian cinema screens starting August 6.
Audiences will have the exclusive opportunity to experience the pristine 4K restoration, accompanied by a fresh dubbing from the Studiynaya Banda team. Originally released in 1995, “Whisper of the Heart” was directed by Yoshifumi Kondō and based on the manga by Aoi Hiiragi, with the legendary Hayao Miyazaki serving as screenwriter and producer.
The story follows 14-year-old Shizuku, an avid bookworm living in Tokyo with dreams of becoming a writer. Her life takes a turn when she crosses paths with Seiji, a classmate with ambitions of becoming a master violin maker. As their bond deepens, Shizuku finds herself inspired to pursue her own creative aspirations.
This announcement follows news from RWV Film and KINOMANIA regarding the upcoming re-release of Miyazaki’s “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” which is scheduled to premiere on July 16.
