Stream Train adds a new location, seven items and train storage in its first content update
Half Past Yellow released Stream Train’s first content update on October 28, adding a new location, seven items and storage boxes aboard the train. The cooperative horror game lets up to six players film cryptids and dangerous stunts to earn donations for fuel and equipment.
The update introduces Baby Not Deer, which can appear in small herds alongside adult creatures. Some cryptids now react to equipment: Jackalopes are attracted to whisky, while Baby Not Deer approach players wearing the antler hat.
New items include Bigfoot Spray and laser pointers. Three player states add further effects: adrenaline grants unlimited stamina for a limited time, some drinks increase movement speed while extending recovery after a hit, and eating spoiled food or too much food can cause sickness.
Items stored on the lobby train now carry into a run. New phone apps add a soundboard and an in-game cryptocurrency market that uses game currency. The developers also introduced shader preloading, intended to reduce stuttering when effects first appear.
A separate hotfix published on October 29 restored DirectX 11 as the default graphics API to address intermittent crashes reported by some players.
