Mass Effect Fans Announce November 7 Gaming Marathon to Save Franchise
Not all Mass Effect fans are willing to accept the current state of affairs.
BioWare was recently closed and development on the new Mass Effect installment was canceled. This Electronic Arts decision is unpopular with franchise fans, who are trying to persuade leadership to reverse course. To achieve this, they launched a campaign featuring billboards urging people to save Mass Effect, and a massive gaming marathon is scheduled soon so participants can demonstrate interest in the games.
The founder of the “We Are Mass Effect” project urged franchise fans to play Mass Effect Legendary Edition on N7 Day so it registers in Electronic Arts statistics:
N7 Day is approaching and we would like to share another wonderful initiative from the community! On November 7, we urge as many Mass Effect fans as possible to return to Mass Effect Legendary Edition at the same time! The idea is simple: unite the community, celebrate, and create a noticeable surge in the player count on Steam to show just how passionate and active our community remains.
Console players can also participate in the “N7 Day — Play Day” event. Players can choose any Mass Effect installment, and no purchases are required. Players were asked to share screenshots and videos and make posts stating that they are playing on N7 Day using the #SaveMassEffect hashtag.
