Stray Kids Make Historic Debut at Rock in Rio

Rock in Rio dedicated a night of the Palco Mundo to K-pop for the first time on Friday (Sept. 11), with Stray Kids headlining the closing set.

Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. drew fans to the Cidade do Rock carrying custom lightsticks and group T-shirts.

Stray Kids closed the Palco Mundo lineup with choreography and tracks spanning multiple eras of their career.

In an interview with Billboard Brasil prior to the festival, the group stated they were eager to see Brazilian fans again.

“We’ll make sure there’s a lot of passion,” they said.

The group opened with “DOMINO” and “BOUNCE BACK,” followed by “Thunderous” and “MANIAC.”

For the opening segment, the members wore streetwear-inspired outfits combining blue, black, and white athletic pieces, jeans, and tank tops.

The members moved across different points of the stage between songs to interact with the audience.

During “DIVINE” and “God’s Menu,” the members changed into predominantly white outfits featuring traditional Korean references, while backup dancers wore black-and-white clothing, hats, and fabric sashes.

During “Chk Chk Boom,” the members performed samba steps on stage.

The set included “S-Class,” “LALALALA,” and tracks from “THIS & THAT.”

The final stretch of the performance featured fireworks, pyrotechnics, and a light show.

Bang Chan sang a portion of Michel Teló’s hit “Ai Se Eu Te Pego,” which the audience sang along with.
