Stranger Things Season 5 Soundtrack: Volume 1 Arrives Nov. 28; Full Release and Physical Formats Announced

Published Nov. 28, 2025

The beloved characters — Eleven, Steve Harrington, Max Mayfield and the rest of the Stranger Things ensemble — return as Netflix rolls out the fifth season. Alongside the episodes, the show’s soundtrack is being released in phases so listeners can savor the music featured across the new installments.

Digital release: Season 5, Volume 1 is available today, Nov. 28, 2025, offering a mix of pop and rock selections from artists such as ABBA, Michael Jackson, The Psychedelic Furs and Tiffany.

Subsequent digital volumes are scheduled as follows: Volume 2 on Dec. 26, 2025, and Volume 3 on Jan. 1, 2026. A comprehensive physical release — Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Series, Season 5 — will follow on Jan. 30, 2026, distributed by Legacy Recordings (Sony Music Entertainment).

The physical formats will include CD, standard black vinyl and several retailer-exclusive colored pressings: Amazon’s red smoke, Target’s blue smoke, Walmart’s orange marble and the Sony Music Store’s marble yellow edition. Cassette options will also be offered for collectors.

The three-stage soundtrack rollout parallels Season 5’s own structure: the final season is presented in three volumes, beginning with the first four episodes that debuted on Nov. 26, 2025.

Earlier promotions included a stirring official trailer released in October that features a remix of Queen’s “Who Wants to Live Forever,” a cut that originally appeared in the 1980s film Highlander. The Duffer Brothers collaborated with producer Nora Felder (two-time Grammy nominee, Emmy winner) to conceptualize and produce the soundtrack. Pre-orders and additional purchase options are available via the show’s official music link.

Since its debut in 2016, Stranger Things has reignited interest in numerous classic songs — Season 4 famously returned Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” to the global charts and propelled Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” back into the Billboard Hot 100 after a pivotal season scene.
