Stevie Nicks and Olivia Rodrigo Featured on Practical Magic 2 Soundtrack Following Landslide Duet

Stevie Nicks and Olivia Rodrigo will contribute songs to the Practical Magic 2 soundtrack, as teased by leading lady Sandra Bullock, following their recent duet at Daisy Chain Fields.

Rolling Stone confirmed on Wednesday, Sept. 2, that Nicks’ “Landslide” will appear in the film. The news follows a performance of the Fleetwood Mac classic by Nicks and Rodrigo at the latter artist’s inaugural charity festival in Irvine, California.

The publication reports that Rodrigo’s song “The Cure” will also be featured on the soundtrack.

After the Daisy Chain Fields event, Bullock — who stars alongside Nicole Kidman in the original Practical Magic and the upcoming sequel — shared a video of Nicks and Rodrigo performing together. She wrote, “Angel voices that are part of an upcoming film,” prompting initial speculation that the two singer-songwriters planned to collaborate on a joint track rather than contribute individual songs.

Practical Magic 2 opens in theaters on Sept. 10.

Nicks performed as one of three special guests joining Rodrigo onstage at Daisy Chain Fields. Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morissette, who stepped in at the last minute after a family emergency prevented Karen O from attending, also performed duets with Rodrigo.

Performances at the festival included sets by Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, The Breeders, Garbage, Bikini Kill, and other acts. Proceeds benefited organizations that support women and girls, champion reproductive freedom, and assist survivors of domestic violence. Rodrigo announced that the festival raised $10 million, and Melinda French Gates matched the amount to bring the total donation to $20 million.

“Seeing daisy chain come to fruition yesterday was the greatest joy of my career,” Rodrigo wrote on Instagram after the event. “I am still in a bit of disbelief that it happened and I still feel incapable of properly expressing the gratitude that I feel for every person who believed in this vision and fought so hard to make it a reality.”
