ETS2 Greece DLC: all six border crossings previewed
On 20 August 2024, SCS Software published the second part of its border-crossing preview for the Greece map expansion in Euro Truck Simulator 2. The developer said the DLC would contain six crossings in total; the second preview covered the final three routes linking Greece with Türkiye, North Macedonia and Bulgaria.
Three crossings in the second preview
- İpsala–Kipoi: SCS described this Greece–Türkiye route as the largest border-crossing area in the DLC. The real crossing handles about 400 trucks a day, and the in-game version recreates separate lanes for trucks, cars and buses without reproducing real-world waiting times.
- Bogorodica–Evzoni: located on the E75 between North Macedonia and Greece, this checkpoint was designed with the highest number of road lanes among the DLC’s crossings. A dedicated truck lane also serves the Special Transport route.
- Kulata–Promachonas: the Bulgaria–Greece crossing follows a major tourist and commercial corridor. Its recreated route includes the bridge over the Pirinska Bistritsa river and a custom-built checkpoint area.
From work-in-progress preview to release
SCS showed work-in-progress footage in August, so the screenshots and layouts were still subject to change. The Greece expansion later released on Steam on 4 December 2024. The finished DLC requires the base Euro Truck Simulator 2 game and adds the Greek road network rather than a standalone game mode.
SCS separated commercial traffic, passenger lanes and Special Transport access across the recreated checkpoints, following the roles of the real road connections.
