Stars of Shōgun and The White Lotus May Play in Beatles Biopics

Actresses Anna Sawai (“Shogun”) and Aimee Lou Wood (“The White Lotus”) are reportedly in talks to appear in four biographical films devoted to The Beatles.

Sawai is said to be set to portray Yoko Ono — the avant‑garde artist, singer and wife of John Lennon. News of her potential casting was first reported this winter.

Wood is preparing to play model and photographer Pattie Boyd, who was married to George Harrison. Boyd reacted positively to the casting on social media and expressed a desire to meet Wood in person.

The growing ensemble for the Liverpool quartet’s films already includes Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Joseph Quinn (George Harrison), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr), Saoirse Ronan (Linda McCartney) and Mia McKenna‑Bruce (Maureen Starkey).

All four films will be directed by Sam Mendes (“American Beauty”). Sony Pictures will release the biopics theatrically in spring 2028.
