Star Wars: Zero Company Receives Highest Media Scores in 22 Years

Electronic Arts and developer Bit Reactor have achieved critical acclaim with Star Wars Zero Company, which debuted to an 86% score on Metacritic based on 41 reviews for the PC version. The score makes the title the highest-rated major release in the Star Wars franchise in 22 years.

The rating places Zero Company among the most critically acclaimed major releases of 2026. Its score surpasses several high-profile franchise titles from recent years, including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (85%), LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (82%), Star Wars: Squadrons (79%), Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (79%), and Star Wars Outlaws (75%).

The last major franchise release to match this critical threshold was 2004’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords. The original Knights of the Old Republic earned an even higher mark of 94% in 2003. While the mobile game Angry Birds Star Wars also reached 86%, it did so with significantly fewer reviews, leaving Zero Company with the strongest showing among major franchise projects in more than two decades.

Bit Reactor selected an unusual genre for the series, designing Star Wars Zero Company as a turn-based strategy title set near the conclusion of the Clone Wars. While sales figures may not reach record territory, early critical reception indicates the team made strong use of the franchise’s potential.
