First Look at Drova II Torn Lands, Sequel to the Pixel Art Gothic-Like RPG
Players will complete quests without markers and join one of two factions.
Just2D released Drova – Forsaken Kin several years ago. It is a pixel-art action RPG that was “inspired by dark genre classics and the mystical charm of Celtic mythology.” Many players compared it to the Gothic franchise, although Drova uses an isometric camera instead of a third-person view.
Just2D and publisher Deck13 have now announced a new installment, Drova II – Torn Lands. They released a trailer with gameplay footage:
The developers said that in Drova II – Torn Lands, players can forge their own path through dangerous lands and join one of two factions, each built around its own deity: “Will you follow the Bear Mother or stand among the ranks of the Great Ram? Immerse yourself in their unique cultures and adopt their ways of life and combat.”
The team will keep its previous approach to quest design: “no markers, no nonsense.” Its development philosophy has not changed, and the studio says it is making an “RPG that respects your decisions and your time.”
Drova II – Torn Lands can be added to Steam wishlists. The developers have not yet given a specific release date or release window. The game is described as a “standalone sequel,” which apparently means its story is not connected to the first game.
