Bloober Team, the creative force behind the Silent Hill 2 Remake and the survival horror title Cronos: The New Dawn, has joined forces with Paramount Games Studio to announce Star Trek: Shadow Frontier. Unveiled during IGN Live, this upcoming project marks the franchise’s first foray into the psychological horror genre, with a scheduled release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
The narrative centers on Ro Laren—a fan-favorite character from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Following a distress signal, Ro Laren finds herself crash-landed on a desolate, otherworldly planet. Michelle Forbes, who originated the role, returns to voice the character, bringing her gravitas to a story that promises to be a deeply unsettling experience for long-time Trekkies.
According to the official press release, the setting is a haunting “spaceship graveyard” where nothing is as it appears. As Ro Laren navigates this corrupted landscape, she will be forced to contend with a hostile ecosystem, nightmarish creatures, and a malevolent entity that threatens to consume both her physical form and her sanity.
