Spider-Man Brand New Day Becomes Available on Streaming and VOD
After an outstanding box office run, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is finally available to watch at home. You can rent or buy the movie on Video on Demand platforms like Prime Video, Google Play, Apple TV, and more. It costs $24.99 to rent and $29.99 to purchase on Prime Video. The movie was available exclusively in theaters for 70 days, which is long by modern standards.
While Spider-Man: Brand New Day was expected to perform well given the hero’s popularity, the movie quickly swung past expectations with an explosive opening weekend that brought in $360 million at the domestic box office, breaking Avengers: Endgame’s record for the biggest debut ever. Brand New Day eventually broke even more of Endgame’s records, becoming the highest-grossing film in domestic box office history with $950 million. It is currently the third-highest-grossing movie worldwide, with $2.5 billion, behind only Avatar and Endgame. These figures are not adjusted for inflation, but the milestone remains impressive.
Beyond its digital debut, Disney recently revealed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is headed for a physical release on Dec. 15, 2026. It will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD, with a Steelbook edition.
What’s next for Spider-Man and the MCU?
After Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s box office success and positive critical reception, Kevin Feige confirmed a sequel is in the works, with Destin Daniel Cretton returning to direct. The movie is likely years off because Cretton is first focusing on his live-action adaptation of Naruto, which reportedly starts filming in 2027.
As for the MCU, Avengers: Doomsday is the next big event. This Doctor Doom-centric film arrives on Dec. 18, 2026, and it remains to be seen if it can match or eclipse Brand New Day’s theatrical success. The next Marvel movie after that will be Avengers: Secret Wars, a direct sequel to Doomsday, planned for Dec. 17, 2027. Some have begun to doubt Secret Wars will hit that original release date since filming was reportedly delayed again to early 2027.

After Secret Wars, the MCU will begin Phase Seven. Confirmed upcoming projects include an X-Men movie on May 5, 2028, a Ghost Rider flick starring Ryan Gosling on July 28, 2028, and a third Black Panther film on Dec. 15, 2028.
