Sony Seeks External Ideas to Revive Dormant PlayStation Franchises
According to insider thisiserfan, Sony Interactive Entertainment is allowing third-party studios to pitch concepts for new games based on legacy PlayStation franchises, including Sly Cooper, Ape Escape, and Killzone.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has reportedly permitted external studios to pitch their own game concepts using intellectual properties owned by the company. Sony is allegedly prepared to fund and publish some of these projects through PlayStation Studios while maintaining development control. The focus centers entirely on new games rather than ports of older titles.
In certain cases, studios that previously worked on the respective series may be brought in. Rumors regarding a new Killzone project have circulated for some time, with previous data suggesting it could be developed by People Can Fly.

At this time, this information remains unofficial regarding the proposed concepts and potential projects. Sony has not confirmed any of them. The insider previously reported on a 2D God of War game and a Killzone project.
