“Space XCOM” Menace gets roadmap as developers announce series of updates
The development team is set to broaden the narrative scope and introduce formidable new challenges.
Menace, the turn-based tactical RPG from the creators of Battle Brothers, debuted on Steam this past February. Currently navigating its Early Access phase, the game has already earned a “Very Positive” rating from its growing player base.
Overhype Studios, which has been maintaining a steady rhythm of minor patches, has now officially shared the project’s future development roadmap.
This outline serves as a preliminary guide; the developers prefer an adaptive approach rather than adhering to a rigid timeline. This strategy grants them the flexibility to prioritize features organically, avoiding the limitations inherent in more traditional, “fixed” development schedules.
Immediate priorities include user interface overhauls, stability improvements, AI behavioral upgrades, and ongoing balance tuning.
Content-wise, players can look forward to a wealth of new equipment, weaponry, and hostile forces—including a major boss encounter. The expansion will also flesh out the game’s lore and unveil unexplored planets characterized by distinct biomes.
