Snoop Dogg biopic to be released in 2027
Universal Pictures has officially announced the release date for the upcoming biographical film centered on iconic American rapper Snoop Dogg, scheduled to hit theaters on August 6, 2027.
The lead role will be portrayed by Jonathan Daviss, known for his work in the series “Outer Banks.” The project will be helmed by director Craig Brewer, whose filmography includes the “Coming to America” sequel and the music-focused drama “Dolemite Is My Name.”
While specific plot details remain under wraps, the biopic is expected to chronicle the rapper’s rise to stardom. This announcement follows the massive success of “Michael,” the Michael Jackson biopic, which became the highest-grossing film of its genre in history, raking in $1 billion worldwide and surpassing Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” ($975 million). In Russia, “Michael” also saw significant commercial success, grossing over 2 billion rubles.
