Single-player extraction shooter about survival on a dying Earth launches on Steam
Mercenaries in Cargo Hunters venture into the wasteland to secure high-demand resources for their elusive clients.
The extraction shooter Cargo Hunters recently made its debut on PC, launching via Steam Early Access.
The narrative unfolds on a dying Earth where catastrophic climate change triggered the melting of Antarctic glaciers. This thaw released prehistoric superviruses that “eradicated everything that moved, breathed, or grew upon the globe.”
With humanity long since evacuated, the task of reclaiming vital assets falls to daring contractors who brave the planet’s lethal atmosphere to scavenge for essentials.
Players take command of humanoid robots and are given the freedom to complete objectives through various means: whether engaging in direct firefights, utilizing stealth, looting, crafting, or trading.
Initial reception for Cargo Hunters has been “Mostly Positive.” While the game currently offers a dedicated single-player experience, the developers intend to introduce a cooperative mode in future updates.
