Fake GTA VI Disc Editions Appear as Chinese Sellers Notice Demand for Full Physical Versions

Unofficial Grand Theft Auto VI editions with a “disc” have appeared, and players can get them, but there is a catch.

Grand Theft Auto VI will have a physical edition, but the box will not contain a disc. Buyers will instead receive a key to download the digital version of the game. Not all players have accepted this decision by Rockstar Games / Take-Two, and some are calling for a full physical edition with the game on a disc.

Entrepreneurs noticed that demand and came up with an unusual offer. Promo banners for unofficial Grand Theft Auto VI editions have gone viral in the gaming community. Chinese sellers are offering collectors physical versions that include a “disc.”

Buyers are warned up front that the product is a fake. This “GTA VI disc” is only a collectible item and is not meant to be played.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to release on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
