Netflix has officially announced a sequel to the breakout animated feature “K-pop Demon Hunters.” The follow-up is scheduled to premiere in 2029.
The original film set a platform record with 325 million views — the highest total among Netflix’s original projects.
The plot centers on the members of the popular Korean K-pop group Huntrix, who, in their off hours, hunt demons and confront invaders from a parallel reality using magical songs and intricately choreographed combat.
Critics lauded the film, which holds a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It also enjoyed an international theatrical run, earning $24.4 million at the box office.
