How SCS previewed Wielton trailers at the Nurburgring

SCS Software and Wielton used the FIA European Truck Racing Championship weekend at the Nurburgring on July 15-16, 2023, to give visitors an early hands-on look at licensed Wielton trailers in Euro Truck Simulator 2. Their joint booth combined a 4D motion simulator with a special ETS2 demo, turning the racing event into a public preview of content that had not yet been released.

The special build offered the first in-game view of the Wielton collaboration. Instead of showing only screenshots, SCS let attendees sit in the motion simulator and drive with the new trailers attached. That made the booth both a partner presentation and a practical preview of how the models looked behind a working truck.

The Nurburgring appearance should not be confused with a race result or a permanent game feature tied to the circuit. It was a two-day promotional event within the truck-racing weekend. The important ETS2 news was the licensed trailer reveal and the opportunity for players at the venue to test it before release.

SCS also visited Wielton’s production facilities while developing the pack. Factory access allowed the vehicle team to study how the trailers are built and to gather reference material for shapes, chassis variants, equipment and surface details. The Nurburgring demo was therefore the visible public stage of a broader licensing and research project.

The Wielton Trailer Pack was released on Steam on July 17, 2023, immediately after the event weekend. The initial release introduced six trailer types: the Bulk Master high-volume dumper, Strong Master steel dumper in three- and four-axle forms, Weight Master aluminium dumper, Curtain Master curtain sider with an optional dropside, Dropside Master and Dry Master dry van in two- and three-axle forms.

The pack also included chassis choices, paint options, cabin items and equipment such as toolboxes, side protection, a water tank, extinguisher, spare-wheel racks, mudflaps, fenders and rear-door variants. SCS described the dumpers as its first licensed tipper trailers for ETS2. The Steam listing contains the current trailer inventory, which can change when licensed packs receive additions after launch.

SCS researched Wielton’s trailers with the manufacturer, demonstrated the models in a 4D simulator at the Nurburgring and later launched the licensed pack in Euro Truck Simulator 2.
