The continuation of the series inspired by Twisted Metal will return to viewers with a refreshed lineup.
The finale of the second season of Twisted Metal strongly hinted at a bigger-scale comeback, and streaming service Peacock has now officially greenlit a third season.
At the same time, a change in showrunner was announced. Replacing Michael Jonathan Smith, who led the first two seasons, will be David Reid — a writer whose credits include The Boys, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and The Magicians. Reid will serve as showrunner and executive producer.
According to Peacock, the second season has been one of the platform’s standout successes: it accumulated nearly a billion minutes of viewing time and ranked second among the service’s returning original series.
No premiere date has been announced yet, but industry sources indicate production could begin in the first half of 2026.
