“Scary Movie 6” receives a digital release date
The sixth installment of the iconic spoof franchise, “Scary Movie,” is set to arrive on digital platforms on July 21, according to reports from WhenToStream.
Anna Faris, Regina Hall, and Marlon Wayans have returned to reprise their lead roles. In this latest chapter, the filmmakers take aim at contemporary horror hits such as “Get Out,” “The Conjuring,” and “M3GAN.” Despite the star-studded return, the film received a lukewarm reception from critics, currently holding a 23% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Nevertheless, the movie has proven to be a massive financial success, emerging as the highest-grossing entry in the series with $215 million in worldwide box office receipts. This latest achievement pushes the cumulative global earnings of the “Scary Movie” franchise past the $1 billion mark.
