Unofficial Geekbench entries for the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D have appeared in the database. If these figures are accurate, the chip reaches 5.6 GHz — 400 MHz higher than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
The chip is built on the Zen 5 architecture and offers 8 cores and 16 threads, with 96 MB of L3 cache including 64 MB of 3D V-Cache, and a 120 W TDP. AMD is using second-generation V-Cache, which should be faster and still support overclocking.
The leak shows two Geekbench 6 results. On a Colorful CVN B850M Gaming Frozen 14A board the CPU was recorded at 5.6 GHz. On a Maxsun B850 ITX board the boost reached 5.3–5.4 GHz. Both tests used DDR5-4800 MT/s memory, which may have lowered the final scores. The numbers appear slightly below those of the 9800X3D.
One important caveat: in recent months the Geekbench database has contained many fake entries, and the CPU being listed simply as “8-Core Processor” doesn’t match AMD’s official naming. For now, this should be treated as an interesting leak. Official tests are likely to appear at CES 2026 or shortly afterward — then it will be clearer whether the 9850X3D can become the new favorite among gamers.
