AMD is preparing a new processor that uses 3D V-Cache technology. The Ryzen 5 7500X3D will be the most affordable entry in the X3D family, aimed at gamers who want peak performance on a limited budget. The chip has appeared in the Geekbench 6 database, where its specifications and performance figures were confirmed.
On an ASUS ROG Strix X870-A Gaming WiFi motherboard the chip scored roughly 2,399 points in single-core and 11,323 points in multi-core. For comparison, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D posts about 2,600 and 12,000 points — approximately 8% higher. The difference is down to clock speeds: the 7500X3D reaches up to 4.5 GHz with a 4.0 GHz base, about 100–200 MHz lower than the higher-end model.
The processor retains 6 cores and 12 threads, along with the full 96 MB of L3 cache that gives X3D chips a gaming advantage. TDP is estimated at 65 W, in line with other Zen 4 processors.
Sources indicate AMD is targeting a price below $200, ideally around $150, which would position it cheaper than the Ryzen 5 9600X. The release is expected imminently and likely without a major launch event. If the leaks hold true, the Ryzen 5 7500X3D could become the new price-to-performance leader for gaming.
