Russian Film Festival “Mayak” Program Revealed

The official competition lineup for the fourth edition of the “Mayak” festival of contemporary Russian cinema has been announced. The event is scheduled to take place in Gelendzhik from October 3rd to October 8th.

The feature film category will showcase 11 debut screenings:

• “Bylo ne bylo” (dir. Tima Anisimov)
• “Vanya” (dir. Klavdia Korshunova)
• “Videoprokat” (dir. Nikita Trotsenko)
• “Vsya eta lyubov” (dir. Gennady Ostrovsky, Victoria Mokerova)
• “Vtoraya Tanya” (dir. Alisa Erokhina)
• “Golem” (dir. Alexander Kott)
• “Leto v Badene” (dir. Anton Zhelnov)
• “Malika” (dir. Natalia Uvarova)
• “Moroz” (dir. Semyon Serzin)
• “Novy dom” (dir. Nikita Grushin)
• “Padayet sneg” (dir. Evgenia Gromova)

The festival will kick off with the premiere of Alexei Uchitel’s biographical drama “Shum vremeni,” centered on the life of composer Dmitri Shostakovich. “Mayak” will also host the Russian premieres of the Cannes success “Fjord,” the comedy series “Shik,” and the documentary project “The Four Lives of Pyotr Mamonov.”
