Rumor: Rose Glass to Direct Adaptation of “My Year of Rest and Relaxation”

According to reports from World of Reel, Rose Glass, the visionary director behind “Saint Maud” and “Love Lies Bleeding,” is in talks to helm the cinematic adaptation of Ottessa Moshfegh’s acclaimed novel, “My Year of Rest and Relaxation.”

The project was initially slated to be directed by Yorgos Lanthimos; however, he stepped away from the production to take a hiatus from filmmaking. Official confirmation regarding Glass’s involvement has yet to be released.

The screenplay was co-authored by Lanthimos and Moshfegh herself, with Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment serving as the production house. The story follows a young woman living in early-2000s New York City who attempts to check out of reality for an entire year, relying on an extensive regimen of prescription medication to fuel her slumber.
