Rumor: Adam Driver may play Magneto in the new X-Men film
According to industry insiders, Marvel Studios has narrowed down a top candidate for a pivotal role in its upcoming X-Men reboot. Reports suggest that Adam Driver is the frontrunner to portray Erik Lehnsherr, the iconic antagonist better known as Magneto, in the franchise’s cinematic revival.
The rumor initially surfaced via insider MyTimeToShineH and was later corroborated by ApocHorseman, who claims the actor has already finalized a deal for the role. Speculation mounts that Marvel may officially unveil the cast during the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con.
Driver appears to be a natural fit for the MCU; he is well-versed in navigating massive franchises and portraying complex, layered antagonists, most notably as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. While he was previously rumored to be in contention for the role of Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four—a part that ultimately went to Pedro Pascal—it now seems likely that he will instead anchor the X-Men’s debut within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
