Reikon Games has officially pulled back the curtain on Ruiner 2, the high-octane successor to the 2017 cult hit. While the original was a solitary descent into cyberpunk madness, this sequel expands the scope significantly by introducing three-player cooperative play.
The developers describe the title as a visceral return to the neon-drenched streets of Rengkok. “Lightning-fast combat meets a deep, systems-driven world,” the official reveal notes. “Master the new Shell System: switch characters mid-combat to exploit lethal synergies and tear through enemies.”
Following the success of their recent first-person shooter, Metal Eden, Reikon Games is pivoting the top-down shooter foundations of the first Ruiner into a more complex, systems-heavy action RPG. The standout innovation is undoubtedly the Shell System, which empowers players to manage a roster of up to three distinct combat bodies that can be swapped instantly during the heat of battle.
According to the developers, these Shells are not merely cosmetic; they represent unique playstyles, specialized abilities, and diverse roles. The game’s Steam description highlights a robust progression architecture: “Every Shell in your roster features a deep, specialized progression path – four skills, each with branching nodes that change how those skills behave, not just how hard they shift.”

As of now, a definitive release date for Ruiner 2 has not been confirmed. In the meantime, fans can revisit the original Ruiner or explore the studio’s most recent work in Metal Eden to get a taste of their signature style.
