Once RÜFÜS DU SOL wraps up their current global trek, the electronic music luminaries are planning to retreat from the spotlight for a well-deserved, extended intermission.

The acclaimed Australian electronic trio is currently in the final stretch of a historic, record-shattering world tour supporting their 2024 studio album, Inhale / Exhale, released via Rose Avenue Records and Warner Music Australasia.

Fans hoping to catch the Sydney-born act at a local arena or stadium should prepare for a lengthy wait, as the group intends to stay off the road until an entirely new creative chapter begins.

During the first of a five-night residency at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, frontman Tyrone Lindqvist opened up about the band’s immediate future. Speaking to the captivated crowd on August 6—in remarks first highlighted by Beatportal—he emphasized the importance of savoring the remaining dates.

“We told ourselves before stepping on stage that we need to soak all of this in for the final month of shows,” Lindqvist shared. “Let’s truly enjoy every moment, because we won’t be touring for quite a significant period—not until we have fresh music ready to share with you all, whatever that may sound like.”

Late last year, the trio concluded their stellar 2025 Australian run with three consecutive sold-out homecoming performances at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena. That leg brought their total domestic ticket sales to an impressive 150,000, contributing to a staggering 750,000 headline tickets sold globally throughout the year.

The Inhale / Exhale World Tour will undoubtedly go down in music history. It kicked off with an intimate, exclusive open-air concert at Sydney’s Fleet Steps in October 2024. Along the journey, the Grammy-winning ensemble achieved monumental milestones: they became only the second Australian act in history (following AC/DC) and the first electronic music group to headline Los Angeles’ iconic Rose Bowl Stadium, alongside a record-breaking four-night residency at Madison Square Garden.

Lindqvist, alongside bandmates Jon George and James Hunt, will officially bring this era to a close this October with a performance at Austin City Limits. Prior to that grand finale, RDS will wrap up their Los Angeles residency before embarking on a dozen final headlining dates across the United States and Canada.

Upon its release, Inhale / Exhale soared to No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart, maintaining the band’s flawless streak of top-tier chart debuts for all five of their studio albums in Australia. With four career ARIA Awards and six Grammy nominations under their belt—including a prestigious 2022 win for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for their anthem “Alive”—their triumphant hiatus is more than earned.
