We are thrilled to unveil another chapter in our ongoing Route 66 Rework Project for American Truck Simulator. This latest update shifts the spotlight toward two of the most legendary landmarks in the United States: the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam. Drawing millions of explorers annually in the real world, both sites are undergoing a comprehensive transformation to ensure their in-game counterparts are more immersive and visually stunning than ever before. Let’s dive into the details!

The Grand Canyon
As a globally renowned geological marvel, the Grand Canyon is a spectacle of sheer magnitude, spanning 277 miles with depths reaching over 6,000 feet. It is truly a sight to behold. Our primary focus for this rework was to better capture that awe-inspiring sense of scale and intricate detail, bringing the canyon closer to its breathtaking real-life presence.

This overhaul extends far beyond just the natural scenery. Grand Canyon Village, located on the South Rim, has been rebuilt from the ground up. We’ve also introduced the settlement of Tusayan to the map. Explorers will find several new observation points and even a few “secret” roads tucked away for discovery. Furthermore, our team has painstakingly recreated the official National Park entrance gate, providing an authentic threshold to this iconic destination.

Grand Canyon Village serves as more than just a backdrop; it remains a vital hub for logistics. You can expect entirely new depot layouts, including a local market, a road construction site, a warehouse, and an aviation service facility. As you haul your cargo through the area, don’t forget to keep an eye out for new viewpoints and photo trophies to add to your collection!
The Hoover Dam
Rising 726 feet above the Colorado River and corralling one of the nation’s largest reservoirs, the Hoover Dam is a titan of 20th-century engineering. For the Route 66 Rework Project, we have completely reconstructed the dam and its surrounding terrain to offer a significantly more authentic and detailed representation.

This historic site is a major draw for tourists interested in American history and monumental architecture. Our rework ensures that drivers can fully experience the grandeur of the dam through enhanced lookout points, dedicated rest areas, and modernized road layouts that mirror the actual experience of crossing this massive structure.

Whether you’re stopping to take in the views or just passing through on a tight schedule, we hope you appreciate the renewed detail of this industrial masterpiece.

We hope this preview of these two legendary landmarks has sparked your excitement. There is still much more to reveal from the “Mother Road” as our rework continues.
