Roman Sands RE:Build Launches on PC and Consoles with Two Interlocking Surreal Stories
Arbitrary Metric and Serenity Forge have released Roman Sands RE:Build on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. The adventure launched on September 16 and moves between a luxury resort and a deteriorating zoological research station.
At the resort, players race to satisfy guests’ requests, improve their rank and unlock equipment through machines in the basement. The other storyline places them in a time loop inside a facility affected by a spreading parasite.
A voice on the radio, performed by streamer STPeach, accompanies the research-station story. Decisions concern both the remaining research and the character’s own survival as the two settings begin to overlap.
The game combines adventure-game exploration, visual-novel storytelling, puzzles and horror. Its pastel resort setting contrasts with the damaged research facility.
The release coincides with Paratopic: Overdub, the studio’s reworking of its 2018 horror game. Serenity Forge is also running a two-week publisher sale with discounts of up to 90% across its catalogue. That maximum refers to the wider sale, not necessarily either new release.
