Marvel Star Confirms Absence in Doctor Doom Movie
Jeremy Renner has joked about the ending of an upcoming crossover.
Jeremy Renner announced at Comic Con Liverpool that he will not appear in Avengers: Doomsday. According to the actor who plays Hawkeye, Marvel did not even invite him to the project. The actor took the opportunity to joke that without Clint Barton, the team risks losing:
“I’m not in Doctor Doom, so the Avengers will probably lose, just keep that in mind… I didn’t get a call, so it’s their own fault that they’ll lose.”
At the same time, Renner does not consider his character’s story finished. Last year, he told ComicBook that Clint constantly returns to work despite trying to retire:
“He’s a family man, and it’s always clear what matters most to him. He keeps coming out of retirement. Until he’s killed off, he’ll be working.”

Avengers: Doomsday will release on December 18, 2026. Rumors suggest that Hawkeye will appear in the following crossover, Avengers: Secret Wars, although Marvel has not yet confirmed his participation. Meanwhile, Renner’s joke about the Avengers losing might not be far from the truth, according to a previously leaked script.
