Rockstar Continues Work on GTA VI Ahead of Release
Rockstar Games is still refining GTA VI ahead of its release, with work continuing on gameplay mechanics, dialogue, NPC behavior, and side missions. This does not mean the release date is being pushed back.
According to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier and developer Phil Hooker, work on individual parts of the game continues even as the launch approaches. The developers’ goal is to release a product that is as polished as possible, without the need for urgent patches.
If Rockstar decides the game has not yet reached its planned level of quality, the team has to keep working. The studio is now putting the final touches on one of the biggest game releases in recent years.
Hooker also noted that GTA VI’s development never followed a set template. The scale of the project requires careful testing of all interconnected elements, since changing one mechanic can affect other parts of the game.
Before launch, the team still has to check the graphics, story dialogue, NPC behavior, and numerous side missions. These final improvements are meant to raise the quality of the game and do not, on their own, point to a delay.
