Robyn Debuts “Dopamine” Live at Surprise LA Show — Her First Full Concert Since 2019 (Full Setlist)

Robyn opened her surprise Fonda Theatre show on Wednesday with a fitting choice: “Missing U.” The song — originally the lead single from 2018’s Honey — immediately set a reflective tone, its refrain about an absence resonating with a crowd seeing the Swedish dance-pop artist in a full-length set for the first time in years.

Although Robyn has made occasional guest appearances since 2019, this intimate performance marked a more substantial reemergence. She returned to the stage only days after unveiling “Dopamine,” her first new single since Honey, and the audience greeted the new track with enthusiastic applause when she played it live for the first time.

The 15-song program avoided deep dives into her earliest ’90s material, instead spanning her 2000s resurgence through recent work: highlights included songs from the 2007 international release Robyn, the 2010 Body Talk era, the 2018 Honey album, and selections from collaborations with Röyksopp and La Bagatelle Magique.

One of the evening’s emotional peaks arrived during “Dancing on My Own,” when Robyn ceded the first chorus to the crowd — who sang back every word — before she seamlessly continued into the next verse and kept the momentum flowing. After that high point she and the band briefly exited, returning for a three-song encore that left the packed 1,200-capacity venue wanting more.
