Scott envisions a significantly darker, more grounded take on the classic tale. Should this endeavor fail to move into production, the director plans to pivot to Covenant With Death—a poignant war drama based on John Harris’s novel, which chronicles the devastating toll taken on the Sheffield City Battalion during the 1916 Battle of the Somme. The director’s latest sci-fi feature, Dog Stars, is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on August 28.
