The Secret to Resident Evil Requiem’s Bone-Chilling Vocals: A Staggering Amount of Dairy
In the world of voice acting, achieving a truly unsettling performance often requires more than just talent—sometimes, it takes a stomach for dairy. Delanie Nicole Gill, the actress behind the nightmare-inducing stalker known as “The Girl” in Resident Evil Requiem, recently revealed the unconventional method she used to perfect the character’s visceral sounds: consuming two massive jugs of milk.
As initially reported by TheGamer, Gill shared these behind-the-scenes details during a panel at MegaCon Orlando 2026. According to footage captured by MiamiGameHunter, the game’s sound directors were looking for a specific, repulsive texture to the character’s vocalizations.
“They wanted my saliva to have a very thick, heavy consistency to capture gurgling and clicking sounds,” Gill explained to the audience. To meet this demand, she went through two gallon-sized containers of milk over the course of two intensive four-hour recording sessions. The physical reality of the performance was just as intense as the sound; Gill noted that because of how she had to distort her mouth to produce the noises, she had to keep a towel on her lap to catch the constant dripping.
This commitment to the craft clearly paid off. If you have encountered The Girl while navigating the horrors of Requiem, you know that her auditory presence is just as terrifying as her relentless pursuit of the protagonist, Grace.
