“Reincarnation” may get a prequel

Filmmaker Ari Aster has revealed that he has penned a screenplay for a prequel to his chilling directorial debut, the horror hit Hereditary.

I’ve written a prequel to that film. I always feel like the timing isn’t quite right. Since it’s a prequel rather than a sequel, I’m still uncertain about where it will ultimately lead,

Released in 2018, Hereditary follows the unraveling of the Graham family as they confront disturbing supernatural occurrences and a dark, inescapable legacy. The film featured powerhouse performances by Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, and Milly Shapiro.

The movie proved to be a massive success, grossing a record-breaking $90 million worldwide against a modest $10 million production budget. Aster’s filmography also includes the acclaimed titles Midsommar, Beau Is Afraid, and Eddington. The director is currently working on his upcoming project, Eddington, starring Scarlett Johansson.
