Netflix has published a new trailer for Record of Ragnarok season 3, which is scheduled to begin streaming worldwide on December 10, 2025. The preview also reveals the season’s opening theme — “Dead or Alive” by Japanese rock veterans GLAY.
The clip offers first visuals of characters such as Nostradamus, Kintoki, and Siegfried, and teases a high-stakes confrontation between Buddha and Odin. This installment returns to the series’ signature format of one-on-one showdowns between gods and storied human figures, with the pivotal seventh match set to decide the deadlocked 3–3 outcome in humanity’s fate.
Shun Horie — known for roles like Kyotaro Ichikawa in The Dangers in My Heart — has been announced as the voice of Michel de Nostradame (Nostradamus). The character is described as “the great prophet of the century — the only human cast into the underworld, watching Ragnarok from the sidelines as he waits for his chance to join the battle.”
Opening theme song artist: GLAY “Dead Or Alive” — “Dead Or Alive was deeply inspired by the epic story of #RecordofRagnarok, where each character’s struggles cannot be judged by the simple notions of justice.” — Record of Ragnarok III Official X
GLAY says the opening draws on the show’s moral ambiguity — an approach that frames each combatant’s choices as more nuanced than simple right or wrong. The season’s ending theme, “Last Breath, Last Record,” performed by Saori Hayami, is set for a digital release on December 10 to coincide with the premiere.
Record of Ragnarok depicts a tournament in which 13 of humanity’s greatest warriors face 13 gods from various mythologies; if the humans win at least seven battles, humanity earns another thousand years of existence. Each duel juxtaposes divine power with human determination, transforming historical and mythical figures into champions fighting for survival.
The anime, adapted from the manga by Shinya Umemura, Ajichika, and Takumi Fukui, debuted in 2021, with a second season following in 2023.
